The diesel pump of the TD5 is always a case for the workshop. Unfortunately, the pump usually fails when you don't have a workshop far and wide and urgently need it. Especially if you are traveling outside of Europe with your Defender, you are well advised to take this step. After you have cut through the aluminum skin, a side member (aluminum) and a cross member (steel) must be replaced. I recommend you to use a multicutter that only works with oscillating movements, I would no longer use the sheet metal nibbler. The service flap was then screwed on with rivet nuts and a foam rubber seal.
